In light of the pandemic, many of us are social distancing or self-quarantining.  We have lost the normal routine and are spending more time indoors.  With the closure of gyms, it is harder for us to exercise and stay motivated to exercise.  However, it is important that we stay active eventhough our routines may be restricted.  Many people have gained weight due to disrupted routines and increased in stress.

1. Be Sure to Get Sleep

Not getting enough sleep or staying up late on a regular basis will affect your waistline.  It is important to get between 6 to 8 hours of sleep to keep the body going throughout the day.  If you are tired after coming home from work, you may take a power nap of 10 minutes to recharge so that you can still sleep early later.  When not getting enough sleep, the body hormones can become imbalance and you may feel hungrier or more tired.

4. Reduce Your Stress

Stress can cause many problems like cardiovascular trouble to digestive problems. It is important that we learn how to manage stress.  Meditation,  exercise and doing things that we love like listening to music or being in nature can help to alleviate the effects of stress.
